THE DEES ARE BACK IN TOWN

A great double by Juan Sara and a pretty good all round team performance saw Dundee leave 2nd bottom behind and climb to 9th in the league by winning their game in hand against Livingstone at Dens Park.

Even although we faced 9 men for a good part of the second half, we still made hard work of ensuring the points. Not that it was Dundee's fault Livvy's indiscipline led to two red cards. (3 if you count Jim Leishman).

It was great to see Juan Sara return to the form of last season. With 5 goals in his last 4 matches now he is on 11 for the season and chasing last season's tally of 18.

Lee Wilkie was another who caught the eye. I've never seen Fernandez look so ineffective all season, and it was mainly down to the shadowing job big Lee did. A magnificent saving tackle late in the game and some excellent headed clearances throughout put him close behind Sara as man of the match.

When he came up into the Bobby Cox before the game to see his pal, Petra, I was delighted to be able to shake hands with the big man and welcome him back to "the only team he wants to play for" (his quote in the Tele, not mine), and he looked as happy as a bairn with a new toy to be back in the first team.

It's a strange game, football, one week the world's ended, 3 days later it's all OK again. BRING ON THE MOTHERWELL.
