The Boys Are Back In Town

The Dundee players resumed training today in preparation for the Killie game at Dens on Saturday.

Juan Sara returned with his team mates and he certainly has something to prove in the remaining 5 games with the chance to make his dream move to Millwall a reality.

One player who wasn't there was Temuri Ketsbaia whose knee injury playing in a friendly for Georgia has put him out of the picture for the rest of the season.

No doubt the fiery Georgian will be missed but this gives an opportunity for youngsters like Beath and company to prove their worth. There's always a bright side to every situation and Gavin has, I feel, the ability to go all the way to the top. He likes to attack and he has great skills.

Berti Vogts has turned the Scottish international scene upside down and young up and coming players must now believe for the first time in many years that the door is opening and the opportunities that weren't there before are now beckoning.

Dundee have several who can stake their claim in this department. All they need is games under their belt. The last 5 games should, I feel, be their chance, and to me this is much more important than the paltry claims that we should play our strongest team in the effort to stay ahead of United. I say let's give the youngsters their fling. We will have plenty of opportunities to show our big advantage over United next season.

Next season should be as exciting a roller coaster ride as any before. We look forward to the return of Zurab and Giorgi, the additions of Jamauralli and Novo, the fiery little Spanish genius who has played so ably for Raith Rovers and scored many goals for them in the First Division. Perhaps there will be more signings, I feel confident there will be. And who knows, maybe Temuri will return for another bite at the cherry that he enjoyed so much this season at Dens. What a waste if he goes to Cyprus, he still has 2 good seasons in the SPL.

So, lets enjoy the last 5 games, give youth it's chance, and then look forward to the new season with vigour and hope for the future. The future's bright, the future's dark blue.
