For a club whose critics (especially Arabs) are sure are ready to go down the tubes the news today that Dundee are to offer Temuri Ketsbaia the post of player/coach is both exciting and promising for the season ahead.

Temuri, who was one of the most exciting guys to appear at Dens in the season just ended, enjoyed his time at Dundee as did his family.

It was rumoured at the time of his supposed departure that his daughter didn't want to leave Dundee as she loved it here.

Temuri himself made a comeback on the playing side which coming after a torrid time at Wolves must have endeared him to Dundee F.C. for giving him a second chance.

Several times before games last season, especially when Ivano was in Italy, Temuri led the players in the pre-match warm ups and I thought then that something was afoot, and the man was looking ahead to a coaching role.

Dundee fans will be both excited and slavering at the mouth at the prospect of the bald headed maestro returning again once his injury clears up. This is extremely good news coming at a time when all else is pessimistic and negative with expected players moving out and rumours of no money to bring others in.

If the legend returns to Dens Park few fans can fail to be anything other than exhilirated about the move. Maybe to see Temuri in action again - what a mouth watering prospect. Can't wait. The man's brilliant.

The only question that still remains unanswered is if Temuri accepts this new role where will Ivano feature in this? Player/coaches usually have their own agendas as to training and match day tactics. Whether this will clash with Ivano's methods or whether the Marrs have a hidden agenda only time will tell.
