Yesterday saw the dark blues head to dumbarton on league cup duty, dundee stuck with the same eleven who ended the game against arbroath in last week ramsdens cup game.

The first half saw the dark blues play some neat passing football but with no end result as the killer pass was always missing, dumbarton however had the best chances of the frst half but were woeful infront of goal, infact had the sons been alert in front of goal the dees could have been looking at being at least two goals down at half time.

However with the second half only two mins old the dees moved ahead when mcintosh headed the ball down to savo milne who dispatched a fine shot past the sons goalie, both keepers then were called into action before mckeown  survived a penalty claim which really could have been a spot kick on another day.

Mcluskey then had a fine mazy and dispatched a fine shot into the roof of the dumbarton net to make it two nil the dees,

Milne and conroy then played a neat one two and milne who had anticipated the return ball then easily stroked home to put the dark blues three up,Riley who had not long came on the pitch then drove into the penalty area and was brought down for a dundee penalty, maticulous matty lockwood stepped upto the spot and fired the spot kick high intothe net to complete the scoring at 4.0 and move into the next round
