Saturdays report

Last updated : 18 October 2010 By Shaded

Firstly a huge thank you to Stirling Albion for their donation of money to the dark blues on Saturday, and also the framed Stirling Albion top.

Over one thousand dees made the trip through to Stirling for the match and there was not a spare seat in the Dundee end.

Dundee had the lions shair of the first half and should have been two nil up before Stirling sneaked back into the game, when they rattled the woodwork late on in the first half.

The second half was a lively affair, and Griffiths had an effort chalked off for offside, which appeared to be correct, however the wee hitman only had to wait a short time when he slotted home past the keeper in 56 minutes, sending the large travelling support into raptures. The home keeper then had to be aware to save from Harkins. It was Higgins turn to be  dissapointed shortly after when his net bound header was cleared off the line.

Sirling however equalised through Forsyth who powered a free header past big Rab in the Dundee goal.Stirling were then reduced to ten men when their centre half was sent off for a proffesional foul on Griffiths,Dundee then should have scored again when Benedictus headed against the post and Griffiths fired in what appeared to be the winner only to see Adams blocking his shot.

Caretaker boss Barry Smith said after the match that he was very pround of the way the players performed after the traumatic week they had endured,he was very impressed with the Dundee layers attitude.
