Pars v Dundee

Dundee had high expectations for Saturdays game, around 1600 made the trip into Fife for the match.

Dundee lined up Fox,Lockwood,Weston,McKeown,Paton,Odonnell,Adams,Harkins,Kugi(sp),Griffiths,Riley

Defending the goal in front of the dee fans sitting in the east stand, the game was slow to pick up any momentum after the minutes applause,Dundee finally upped the play and Harkins had a great strike fly just over the pars keeper's right hand post, however the pars started to force their way into the game with Gibson appearing to be their catalyst,in truth the guy looks to be a player.

The pars broke the deadlock after a fabulous save by Fox the rebound went over towards the edge of the box and Riley tackled the par player(who was running away from goal)with all the experteese of a winger making a tackle, the result was penalty kickfor the pars that few could argue with,my only arguement was that it was indeed a penalty even before the fabulous save due to a blatant push by Paton. The penalty kick was despatched with ease and we were 1.0 down.By the time i had left to go to the toilet and return to my seat it was 2.0,perfect timing on my behalf.

The second half saw Dundee claw a goal back via the head of Harkins and it was game on,shortly after Griffiths had a fantastic effort that the pars keeper pushed brilliantly around the post, however much to the dismay of virtually everyone in the ground the refferee pointed for a goal kick,a really poor decision in my opinion.

The pars then brought on Pat Clarke and he almost immeadiatly increased the pars advantage after a comedy of errors by the Dundee defence,it realy had to be seen to be believed and Clarke had the easiest of tasks to slot the ball home.

Best for the dee's in my opinion was Weston who has clearly adjusted to the pace of the first division and was head and shoulders above any other wearer of the dark blue shirt. In comparison the lad Gibson was by far the best pars player on the park.

Summing up,never 2 goals between the teams but the pars were worthy winners, and at least 5 Dundee players must take a serious look at them selves and start playing as if their lives depended on it,a very bad day at the office in my opinion
