Nacho Novo - Almost A Dee!

Last updated : 09 June 2002 By Dave Webster
With all the depressing unconfirmed rumours of managerial changes, sackings, Italians supposedly flitting back to Italy with vanloads of furniture, the granny of a player's auntie supposedly overhearing Ivano say to the tea lady that he wouldn't be back next season. It's nice to report a positive story for a wee change.

Nacho Novo For Dens?
Raith Rovers ace Nacho Novo is very close to signing for Dundee. The deal is almost clinched and the diminutive Spaniard who was top scorer in Division 1 last season looks set to put pen to paper very soon. Personal terms appear to be sorted and the player is keen to show what he can do in the SPL.

Those fans who haven't already renewed their season tickets will find it hard to retain the seats of last season as ticket sales are booming at the club shop. Dundee fan Jim McKay was at Dens on business yesterday morning and at 9.30 a.m. there was a fair old queue outside the shop before it opened.

By afternoon I was put on hold for ages trying to get through to Niall Cosgrove, and apparently the main reason was he was busy in the sale of season tickets.

On that subject a big thank you to Stuart Craig, Dundee fanatic, who emailed me from Amsterdam, where he now lives. Last season Stuart bought season tickets for 2 of my Under-10 players who but for his kindness would never have been able to see their heroes in action. In time for next season he has came up with the goods again, this time adding a third player to the ranks. Stuart misses being at Dens but his kindness allows 3 youngsters to take his place and I think he's ensured 3 new Dee fanatics for the rest of their lives.
