A while back it was announced that Gocha Jamarauli was a strong target of Dundee boss Ivano Bonetti for the end of this season.

His contract with his present club FC Zurich of Switzerland runs out this summer and it is predicted his immediate future lies with Dundee F.C. Described by a Georgian fan as a bit like Nemsadze, but with the added bonus of being able to finish, he would be just the player to bring in to replace Gavin Rae should he be sold.

Jamarauli, 30, has been capped 50 times for Georgia, and was quoted on the Georgian (in English) site, www.georgiansoccer.cjb.net as being 90% sure he would be joining Dundee. He went on to say how excited he was about meeting up with international colleagues, Zurab Khizanishvili, Georgi Nemsadze and Temuri Ketsbaia in time for next season. www.jmb-online.com (an excellent Dundee news site) also carry this story.  They also mention a possible Georgian striker, also with FC Zurich, who will be available soon.  Visit their site as it's their scoop, to find out more.

Should Rae move on we are still faced with a mouth watering midfield selection crisis of the good sort. We could have the 3 Georgian internationalists Jamaurali, Nemsadze and Ketsbaia with the 4th place being filled by the likes of Carranza, Robertson, Torres, Artero, Beith, etc., etc. If this all happened, the Bonettis will be faced with an array of talented midfield players to chose from that most managers in the SPL would envy.

www.georgiansoccer.cjb.net have now started a Dundee F.C. section which can be found by scrolling down the right hand columns on their main page. The Editor has offered his own small piece on Temuri Ketsbaia and will be keeping this site updated with news on Dundee's Georgian community.
