The manager said: “We want to try to get a run in the cup but we think we’ve got the toughest draw out of everybody. Aberdeen will maybe be saying the same about us but if you get through this one then who knows,

“There’s a lot of Premiership teams playing each other and you need a little bit of luck when you’re in a cup competition.

“Saturday’s a tough game but it’s a game that we’re looking forward to.”

“It’s got the makings of a cracking cup-tie, the previous game here was a great game of football, both teams like to play and pass the ball so I’m sure it’ll be the same again. I think the fans will be in for a good game on Saturday.

“Aberdeen will bring a large following, we know that already, and we know it’s expensive to get in but that is what it is.

“It’s not up to the players to decide how much it is to get into a game of football, all we want to do is try to get a good home backing, which we have had this season.

“The crowds have been terrific and I urge them to back the team on Saturday, like they’ve done all season.”
