Gary Harkins remains upbeat despite 3-2 loss to Aberdeen

He said: “If you look at the teams we’ve played, we have picked up points where you’ve thought we shouldn’t have but also lost games we think we should have won.

“We’ve done OK. I wouldn’t say the points we’ve got reflects how well we’ve played in some games. Hopefully in the next few weeks we can add a lot more points.

“Last week we were poor at Ross County and also in the first Dundee United game. But that’s two bad games — the rest of the time you could say we should have got something.”

However Paul Hartley feels poor defending was to blame.

Hartley said: "Aberdeen are an excellent side.

"We're happy with how we played but not with the result and the way we conceded the goals.

"We gave them them too much room for the winning goal and that's something which is disappointing.

"We spoke about that before the game so it's frustrating from that point of view."
