Dundee v Raith

Last updated : 20 September 2010 By Shaded

Dundee FC handed a debut to on-loan Celtic stopper Milan Misun who signed from the Parkhead club just before kick-off, while Welsh internationalist Rhys Weston was missing through injury,it is believed that Weston went over an ankle in training The Dark Blues were desperate to get back to winning ways and to also cut the gap on the Rovers and should have taken the lead in eight minutes.

Leigh Griffiths worked did well before  crossing to the far post but Adams could only head into the side-netting,from where i was sitting i suspected Adams had one eye on the post.

Raith threatened in 20 minutes when Stephen Simmons' shot from inside the box was saved easily by big rab.

At the other end Dundee skipper Gary Harkins' inch-perfect pass opened the Rovers defence only for Griffiths to pull his shot wide of  McGurn's goal.

In 34 minutes Raith came within inches of the opener when Tade's header was cleared off the line by Riley. A minute later, they were awarded a spot-kick which big rab saved brilliantly by diving low to his left, and pushing the ball around the post for a corner kick.

Just after the break Riley had a half chance but shot straight at McGurn. Douglas then made a fine save from Raith substitute Mole's free-kick but neither side could find the opening goal.

Raith boss John McGlynn was disappointed to leave with just a point but reckons that's a sign of progress at Stark's Park.

He said: "It shows how far we have come when we come to a place like Dens Park and are disappointed not to have won.

"We went toe to toe with Dundee although neither keeper was really overworked. This is a tricky place to come to but we worked ever so hard as a team which pleased me."

Deflated Dundee boss Chisholm said: "It was very frustrating. We are much better than that but unfortunately we just didn't show it.

"I've told the boys what I think. We started very nervy and never quite got going.

"We seemed to lack a wee bit of confidence so the end result was we didn't threaten them nearly enough."

In the end from a supporters viewpoint Dundee never showed any team work at all and this is a very worrying situation as i dont think we passesd the ball to any team mate more that three times, there is something massively wrong at dens at the moment when we cant pass the ball anymore than 4 times without giving posession away.

I must say that the referee was absolutely shocking in all fairness, far to whistle happy and constantly bringing the play back.
