McNamara has every respect for the Dark Blues so believes his own men will have to be on top of their game to return to Tannadice with all three points

"I've been impressed by Dundee on the few occasions I have watched them this season

"They are well organised and have started very well this season so credit to them

"Paul has made a lot of changes to his squad over the summer and brought in SPFL experience in Kevin Thomson, James McPake, Paul McGowan and Gary Harkins

"They have put a lot into that to try first and foremost to build on getting into the league and then staying there

"It will be a tough match going there

They will be confident and think they can get the three points they will be looking for

"It is important we stay calm and play the way we can

"We know what we're capable of and hopefully we can produce on the day." United hope to welcome back midfielder Stuart Armstrong from an ankle injury which has sidelined him in recent weeks, while winger Ryan Dow is aiming to shake off a thigh strain in time to play

But Turkish striker Nadir Ciftci is suspended for United after being sent off against Hamilton in their 2-2 draw last weekend
