Anderlecht Match Ball Presentation

Dundee FC Supporters Society were also delighted last week to receive match balls from the Anderlecht 1963 game and of course the Muirton Match Ball.  The posters of the Dundee Mad message board raised a huge amount of money for the Society's Grand Auction, using it to secure the ball from that Anderlecht match, which they have donated back to the club to go on display.  Accepting the ball from Brian and Catrina Bell, on behalf of Dundee Mad, was Society Chairman Scott Glenday

'It was a really a proud moment accepting the Anderlecht football from Brian and Catrina Bell as it had been kindly donated by the family of one of the Clubs greatest ever servants' said Scott.  'I'm proud and very privileged to have known Bobby Cox, he was a star and an absolute gentleman, he’s someone we all miss, we always will.  The football is a family treasure and everyone was very grateful to his family for their kindness and generosity.  Coupled with that was a real sense of gratitude to the people at Dundee MAD who raised the money, they once again generated substantial funds in an effort to keep our Club alive, and secured something special for their fellow supporters.  It will be treasured and kept safe for everyone to enjoy, just another marvellous story.  Dundee MAD and Bobbys family should be really proud of their efforts and on behalf of their fellow fans and the Society Board I'd like to personally thank every one of them , just marvellous’.

More Cheque Presentations

Now onto the Supporters Clubs donations, which continue to arrive thick and fast.  The JMB Dark Blues were represented by (l-r) Marsh, Sage, Robo and Booth (or is it David Brent?) as they handed over a cheque for £800 to DFCSS Communications Director Graham Smith.

Dees Down Under donated a cheque for £1250 - Kylie Minogue was unavailable for the afternoon so they got the next best thing - their cheque was handed over to the DFCSS's Events and Merchandise Director Maurice Kidd by "Miss Dundee FC" Mhairi Young.

Members of the Blairgowrie DSC presented a cheque for £1000 to Society Match Day Events Co-ordinator John Keith.

The final Supporters Club cheque was donated by the Central Dark Blues.  Society Vice-Chairman George Harris received the cheque from Central Dark Blues' Mike McHale and Ian MacKintosh.

Society Treasurer Bill Brewster also received a cheque for £2000 from Dave Adam (centre, left) and friends, who raised the fanstastic sum from a recent Programme Fair.

We'd like to say a massive thank you to all who donated last week, and who have done throughout the course of the season.  We really couldn't have got to where we are (both as a Club and a Society) without the tremedous support and generosity of our supporters - quite frankly the best fans in the world!
