Campo Link With Dundee?

Last updated : 30 September 2003 By Dave Webster

Most unlikely rumour but if I don’t pass them on and it does turn out to have some truth in it who’d believe me then? The latest player allegedly interesting Dundee is 29 year old Ivan Campo, 4 times capped for Spain, and a powerful central defender renowned for his ability in the air. Yes, I can hear you all smirk as you read.

Ivan Campo on right

The player was signed by Bolton after a long, drawn out negotiated deal in August, 2002, on a one year deal and was re-signed on a longer term contract in the summer of this year. For this reason it would be a major surprise if this player were to move either now or in January. It is unlikely he would be put out on loan as he is currently a major role player in the Bolton defence.

His pedigree is impressive. Valladolid, Valencia, Mallorca, Real Madrid are among his former clubs and he is currently in the English Premier with Bolton.     We shall have to wait and see if this one comes to anything.

At the moment it must remain as very unlikely, though the person who passed this info on to me was pretty certain the interest was most definitely there. Kinda like a friend of a friend of Peter Marr’s taxi driver.

We Shall See! Stop laughing!
