bike winner/season tickets

Last updated : 26 May 2011 By Shaded

A couple of weeks ago we revealed that the winner of the Suzuki Bandit raffle was Dave Mitchell of Glenrothes.  It's a huge congratulations to Dave who wins the Suzuki Bandit donated by John Burke of the Barry Smith Dark Blues.  John handed over the keys to Dave at Dens last week.

Dave, a member of the Fife Dark Blues, isn't a biker but is nevertheless deelighted with his prize.  We believe he plans to sell it on to a chap who attends car and vintage car shows, who will put the bike on show at these events too.

Dees legend and safe pair of hands Tom Carson - ably assisted by John's granddaughter Danielle Collie and Society Community Director Dave Forbes - picked out lucky ticket number 0161 at half time during our last home game of the season.

Here's another couple of angles on Dave's new machine...

Mucking In

It was a good day up at Dens yesterday, with over 40 fellow fans mucking in with stadium maintenance jobs.

Society chairman Scott Glenday told us "It was a really enjoyable afternoon, people seemed to be very happy to be given the opportunity to carry out work at the ground."

"Big thanks to Kenny Valentine, Jim Thomson and the lads from Millars Specialist Decorators, they were well organised and had everyone set to work whenever they arrived."

"People seemed to mix well, chatting away whilst getting stuck in to the task in hand. It’s our Club now and it’s very much over to us. I’d hope some of those who have yet to participate come along and experience the feeling of satisfaction carrying out work at your Club's ground brings."

Some of the work was being done to satisfy the requirements of the safety certificate, while other tasks were being carried out to enhance the surroundings for the benefit of us all.

If you are reading this and are available the next time the opportunity arises then why not head down and have a go? You’ll be made most welcome at a football club that is now your very own.

There was even TV coverage of yesterday's event and an interview with volunteer co-ordinator Kenny Valentine on STV which you can view here (3.10 minutes into the programme).
