News is that the Beto Carranza knee injury sustained in today's Under-21's match might not be as bad as first feared.

The wee man saw a fierce shot well saved by the keeper and as he slotted home the rebound he seemed to have twisted his knee as he tried to keep his footing on the soaking wet surface.

He had seemed to be running freely and although well short on match fitness looked fairly at ease until the moment he scored. There were no players near him at the time so no contact was made.

Paul Marr told me shortly afterwards he had visited Beto in the treatment room and it might not be as bad as was first feared. It is the same knee he has had the problems with but it is hoped it is not a recurrence of the same injury. Whatever the outcome it is sure to put his return to the first team on hold for a while longer.

Dundee need you back and soon, Beto.  We all have our fingers crossed for you.
