ayr v dundee match report

Last updated : 23 October 2011 By Shaded

the dark blues climbed off the foot of the table, thanks to rhys weston, steve milne and young leighton, the dees also saw a rare penalty miss from mat lockwood.

the dees should have put the game well out of sight before mark roberts scored from the penalty spot.the dees were always the better side but continued to pass up chance after chance.

the dees opened the scoring from a corner when the ayr defence never spotted rhys weston nipping around the defence to score with a header from about three yards.

dundee's corners and set pieces were causing ayr big problems when ryhs again went close,on the half hour mark the ayr goalie had a great save from riley, shortly after ayr were very angry when dundee were awarded a hotly disputed penalty but cuthbertson had a great save from lockwood.

gavin rae then hit the bar from point blank range, into the second half and riley had a great run from deep but the defender made a hash of his clearance and there was leighton macintosh to increase the scoring,

roberts of ayr pulled one back from the penalty spot before steven milne headed home a cpl of minutes later to restore the dark blues cushion to two goals, all in all a very welcome three points and three goals for the dark blues.
