hi lads,as you will probally be aware the annual scotland v england charity match returns to dens park this sunday kick off 1.30pm.

a brief history,we started this charity after bert slater died, henc the name the bert slater scotland v england charity match,4 years ago myself a paul from sunderland created the charity game.

the first year was held in sunderland and the format was 5 a sides, with the winning team coming from england, just over £2000 was raised, and among the scots who travelled down was ex dee ian macdonald, along with fellow posters hamblues/tynedee/glasgow dee/the gen65 and myself.

the 2nd year was held at dens ,and this time we had bobby glennie and ray farningham in our side, the whole day was a success with us defeating the auld enemy 9.2 on home soil.the nightime was also a success with over £3000 being raised, the game was also dvd'd and sold for £5 a copy.

last year was played on sunderland reserves ground and the scots took down a great travelling support, infact out numbering the english on their own soil, the game was decided by penalty kicks where the scots were beatng, once again a host of posters from here travelled down and were joined by ex dee john macphail in sunderland.

sundays game as i said is at dens and a big thank you goes to jim thompson for all the help he has given us in organising this game,ex dees playing on sunday are john macphail/ian macdonald and bobby geddes who answered our call when andy goram called off with 52 hrs remaining before the game, top marks go to bobby as he answered the call and confirmed within the hour.

anyone wanting to attend can gain admittance at the red gate between the main stand and the shankley stand, the price is £2 and if you can make it please come along, and lend us your support in raising funds for ill and underpriveledged kids in dundee and the surrounding area,

night time has seen the tickets for the auction/raffle/disco flying off the shelf and we only have 8 left to sell,so hopefully it will be a roaring success.
