Queen of the South coasted to a 3-0 home victory over Dundee in the Scottish First Division.

Allan Johnston opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he connected with Colin McMenamin`s right-wing cross and fired home a right-footed shot.

McMenamin went from provider to scorer in the 24th minute when he latched onto a loose ball inside the penalty area and lashed home a low right-footed shot from 12 yards.

The hosts were largely dominant and they claimed their third in the 61st minute when Paul Burns headed home a right-wing cross from Robert Harris.

Stephen McKenna went close to adding a fourth with a stunning 35-yard strike that whistled narrowly wide.

Matthew Lockwood had gone close for Dundee in the early stages but the hosts ran out deserved winners.
