Dundee recorded their third goal-less league draw in a row and as much as boss Alan Kernaghan will be happy with his defence the same cannot be said about his strike force, who did not have one shot on target this afternoon.

Sean Higgins played a good pass through to Alex Burke just outside the Dundee box, but Scott Murray was quick to react and raced 15 yards from his goal-line to take the ball from Burke's feet as he lined up to shoot after 13 minutes.

Moments later Simon Lynch headed well wide for the home team before Kevin McDonald did likewise with his 20 yard shot.

A cracking right-foot drive from 30 yards by David Cowan was a fraction too high in the 32nd minute.

Burke should have put the visitors 1-0 up five minutes before half-time, but he somehow managed to pull his shot wide of the target from five yards after Higgins had headed the ball back across goal.

With just over an hour of the match played, a 35-yard free-kick by Paul Dixon went high over the cross bar.

Scott Robertson's shot from outside the box two minutes later was closer to the target but still too high.

Dundee substitute Bryan Deasley went closest for the home team and was unlucky when his 25-yard shot on the run went narrowly over with Stuart Garden at full stretch as the game drew to a close.
