Cairney keeps his cool

A Paul Cairney penalty gave Partick a 1-0 win which moves them up to fourth in Division One and left 10-man Dundee bottom.

Partick's Chris Erskine was brought down by goalkeeper Rab Douglas in the 24th minute - the former Celtic man seeing red for the challenge.

Cairney stepped up to smash the penalty past substitute John Gibson into the top corner and put the Jags ahead.

But it was the 10 men who were in the ascendancy approaching half-time as Ryan Scully denied Gary Irvine, Gavin Rae, Ryan Conway and Nicholas Riley.

Riley had late chances to rescue a point but the visitors held on to win away for the first time in the league this season.
