A share of the points was a fair result, but Dundee should have won it.

How Scott Robertson managed to miss an open goal after Steven Robb had hit the post only he knows.

Robb cut in from the left flank beating at least three Clyde defenders before driving the ball past Paul Jarvie. Unfortunately for Dundee the woodwork came to Clyde's rescue, and Robertson blasted the ball up and over from only three yards when hitting the back of the net looked the easier option.

Promotion favourites Dundee lacked urgency during the opening 45 minutes and neither defence experienced any sort of pressure as the score-line stayed blank at the break.

The visitors eventually opened the scoring after 61 minutes when a long ball into the Clyde box bounced awkwardly between two defenders and Simon Lynch, with his back to goal, hooked the ball over the advancing keeper.

Clyde brought on assistant manager Joe Miller for Chris Higgins, and the move paid off after 76minutes. A cross came into the Dundee box from the Clyde right and Barry Smith, in trying to control the ball instead of thumping it clear, only set up Miller, who swept a low ball past Kelvin Jack from six yards.

Three minutes later came Robertson's vital miss, which was justice for Clyde who looked the likelier side as the game drew to a close.

The pace of the lively Tom Brighton was causing the visiting defence all sorts of problems, but determined Dundee held on for their point.
