Battling Dundee Downed by Late Goals

Last updated : 02 February 2002 By Dave Webster
Dundee will look back on this one and wonder how they lost all 3 points!

Rangers, as expected, dominated for most of the game and had by far most of the possession. But Dundee's defence, with Speroni in magnificent form, were composed and organised.

They could have scored in the opening minute when Ketsbaia hit the crossbar with a vicious drive, and later in the half a double wonder save by Klos prevented him from giving his team the lead at half time.

After soaking up a lot of Rangers pressure Dundee could have played out the second half by defending and gaining what would have been a creditable draw. But Ivano threw caution to the wind and sent on an extra striker. The move seemed to have been a masterstroke when GAVIN RAE gave his side the lead with 20 minutes to go. But in a 3 minute spell they lost two goals and went home pointless after a great fighting performance. FULL MATCH REPORT LATER.
