Not so long ago Lee was one of the most promising rising stars at Dens and he excelled for Scotland at Under-21 level. A training ground bust up between he and Manager Ivano Bonetti signalled the end for the strong tackling defender, and he has been on loan with several teams though his future still looks undecided.
United have injury problems and a central defender is high on their list of priorities, and Lee would fit the bill perfectly. Currently on loan with Falkirk in the First Division he must surely be yearning for a return to the SPL.
However, whether Dundee would allow the youngster to join their close rivals is debatable, especially as they also have injuries and are short on defenders. Many Dees fans would welcome a return to the squad by the popular Wilkie, so unless Ivano has another signing imminent it could be time to eat humble pie and give the kid one more chance.
