SNOW PATROL COMES TO AID OF DUNDEE FC.



ONE OF the UK's biggest Indie bands Is auctioning a signed Fender

Stratocaster Junior on eBay to raise money for cash-strapped Dundee FC, writes Kathryn Anderson.

Lead singer Gary Llghtbody and keyboard player Tom Simpson are both huge fans of the Dark Blues and have been closely involved with the supporters' trust, Dee4Llfe.

The beautiful red and white guitar, which was made In Mexico, Is' inscribed by the band with the message, "Dee4Life... with love... Snow Patrol... 2005" and has the autographs of all five band members: Gary, Tom, Nathan, Paul and Jonny.

The band, who had huge chart success last year with their album

Final Straw, got Involved with Dee4Life after player Tom stumbled across the Dundee Mad website.

The site is for fans around the world and is managed by five fans who, for anonymity, go by the names of Ulster Dees (In Belfast), Shuntz (in Dundee), Napper (In London), Riodee (in Brazil) and ForeignDee (in South Africa).

Naturally Ulster Dees was delighted when Tom

contacted him.

He said, "Gary and Tom are both Dundee fans and go to a lot of games. They were keen to help

Dee4Life and that's when they came up with the idea of the guitar."

Bids are currently
standing at £250 but
should soar by
Wednesday when bidding closes.
