Peter Marr off the board?

Last updated : 09 March 2007 By Dundee Mad
Dundee Mad have been inundated today with rumours circulating Dundee that Peter Marr has been removed from the board of directors at Dundee FC.

At this stage it is unknown whether the rumours are true and we have been unable to verify any of them at this stage. Peter Marr himself declined to comment despite being given repeated chances to deny the story.

We have also contacted other members of the DFC board who were also unwilling or unable to confirm or deny the rumours.

If Peter Marr has indeed been stood down as a director it will bring to an end one of the most turbulent periods in the clubs history.

Recently several of Peter Marrs companies were placed into receivership by HBOS as a result of huge debts. None of these debts were attributable to the situation at Dens Park and indeed it's our belief that for some period the debts of Dundee FC have been used to mask the bigger picture of financial activity at the Marrs' companies.

Dundee Mad have little sympathy for the Marrs current predicament given the shabby and grossly incompetent mismanagement of Dundee FC which saw the club nearly go under. Indeed we think it is long overdue that Peter Marr was removed from any position of influence at our football club and although at this stage we cannot say for sure that he's gone we think that it will only be a matter of time anyway.

When he is finally removed, if it has not already happened, the future of the club will once again be up for discussion with fans group Dee4Life poised to playa major part in the future.
