Latest on Lee Wilkie

Lee Wilkie today had his scan at Ninewells Hospital to assess the damage to his knee.

At this stage however the full extent of the damage remains undetermined because of the difficulty in interpreting the images due to the previous operations Lee has had.

The scans will be sent electronically to Dr Steadman of the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Colorado for further analysis. Dr Steadman is the renowned expert who performed the surgery to get Lee fit again after the second injury.

The images were unclear to the Ninewells team as there is a considerable amount of scar tissue from previous operations and also some metal inserts put in by Dr Steadman in 2005.

It is hoped the situation will be clearer at the start of the week when Dr Steadman gives his interpretation.

All at Dundee Mad wish big Lee all the best and have our fingers and toes crossed for him.
