Dee4Life AGM December 2nd 2006

Last updated : 19 November 2006 By Dundee Mad

On Saturday 2nd December Dee4Life Supporters Trust will be having the AGM.

Dundee Mad urge all who can attend to go along and take an active role in the democratic process of YOUR Trust.

We are at a crucial point in the history of Dundee Football Club with the opportunity there for fans of the Dark Blues to have a genuine and lasting say in how our club is run.

Back in May we were offered the opportunity to become the majority shareholders in DFC with an initial target of £152,000  required to purchase 21% of the available shares. This would be added to the5% already held by Dee4ife giving a total of 26%.

In addition we were told that the Marrs shareholding would be reduced to less than 25% meaning Dee4Life was the biggest single shareholder.

On top of that we were informed that Dundee Football Club would be debt free after a restructuring, but would lose ownership of Dens Park to remove the noose of debt around the clubs neck.

On August 1st 2006 Dee4Life announced to the world that the initial target had been met.

That fantastic achievement should have triggered a series of events which would result in Dee4Life being a major player in the Dens Park boardroom.

Today the money is sitting in a bank account with no share purchase, no debt free DFC and no word on when either will be delivered.

We have 2 main questions:-

  1. When will the debt free club become a reality?
  2. When  will the share purchase progress?

In our opinion Dee4Life is now at the stage where it must decide whether to progress as a vehicle for change at the club or as a social movement for the fans.

The elected leadership of the Trust must state clearly and concisely in what direction they intend to progress in order that the rest of us can decide on our own paths.

It may be that the general membership is happy to continue on the current road, but the administration of this site believe that the status quo is not an option. We accept that we may well be in the minority.
