Dee4Kids Update

Last updated : 31 July 2009 By Dundee mad
Thanks to all who have donated/pledged so far. We have donations/pledges for 117 tickets at the moment however as the new league season is only 8 days away we're needing to get it all finalised as we need to get the tickets distributed.

As things stand I can go to the shop and buy 100 tickets (based on money in and a couple of pledges I'll cover cos I know the people concerned) and intend to do so ASAP. Cheques have been coming in and if any more arrive after the tickets are bought they will be taken up to Dens as a batch in a week or so and more tickets bought (I asked for all cheques to be made out to Dundee Football Club) and they won't go to waste.

I can't make the match tomorrow cos of work commitments but will be at the Morton game next week, so anyone left who wants to hand over cash at the match please email me at  dundeemad@hotmail.com  and i will give you alternative arrangements.

With the exception of around 15 tickets we buy the tickets are all allocated already by KIKO on behalf of the club, not only to the kids in their scheme but to other youth groups around Dundee including Barnardos, schools, scout groups etc. Many of the tickets are to be used to reward good behaviour.

Thanks to other donations the club will also have a number of adult tickets which will be used on a weekly basis by the supervisors of these groups ie scout leaders or teachers. Without these adults in attendance many of the kids couldn't go. Well Done to all who donated to the club in this way.

Of the 15 tickets which will be given to Dundee Mad for distribution at our request 10 will be allocated by SallyC to a local group he knows well and where the tickets will be appreciated. The rest will be allocated by myself to a couple of people who got in touch with the site and requested help as Dundee fans who are currently financially restrained from being able to let their kids go to games even though they are massive fans of the club. For reasons of privacy I cannot say any more about these people but I have been in contact with them, believe them and feel they are very worth helping at this time. I am also willing to forward their original requests to one nominated poster, I prefer Rumple, for scrutiny if required.

I hope this satisfies everyone as to where the tickets are going and thanks to the generosity of the people from this site we will all see a very large group of kids in the Bobby Cox next week against Morton.

Well Done everyone and thank you very very much.
