Dundee FC are delighted to announce today that Paul McGowan and Paul McGinn have signed for the club on two year deals.

Both players completed medicals this evening and join Paul Hartley's squad ahead of the 2014/15 Premiership campaign.

An attacking midfielder, McGowan has a number of years experience in the top tier of Scottish football as well as in European competition.

McGinn is a right back and impressed through the 2013/14 season for Dumbarton. He was voted into the SPFL Championship team of the year.

McGowan started his career with Celtic where he played alongside now boss Hartley. He told us, "He was always good with me so it was a big factor in me joining."

With the two signings today, it takes the new addition total up to eight for the summer. The former St. Mirren man has been impressed with the additions so far, "I know Simon (Ferry) from Celtic, (Kevin) Thomson has played at the highest level and (James) McPake is a leader, it shows the ambition of the club and was major factor as well."

As to how his move to Dens came about, he said "I was shocked to be released by St. Mirren. My mobile kept ringing from the next day but I didn't answer as I didn't know the number."

"It turned out to be Paul (Hartley) and I met him and Scot Gardiner on the West Coast and they sold me on the club and team, I was convinced from then and it was just a matter of getting the deal done."

McGinn was a member of the Dumbarton side who pushed Dundee so close in front of a sold out Dens Park on the final day of the 2013/14 season.

He told us that he was, "Blown away by the last day of the season. I've never experienced anything like that."

"I've heard people talk about Dundee being a big club but it proved it to me on that day."

The ex Dumbarton man was in high demand since the end of the season, "I was flattered by a lot of clubs showing interest in me but speaking to Paul Hartley made my mind up."

Manager Paul Hartley told us, "I'm delighted that both players have agreed to join."
