McAlister's Rangers switch in tatters

The midfielder has been offered a two-year extension by Dundee but has had contact with a number of other interesting suitors.

Premiership outfit Kilmarnock have cast their eye over the 29-year-old. It’s believed newly-promoted Hearts may also been keen to add him to their ranks.

But it’s been the interest from Championship Rangers which is the most intriguing, with McAlister a former Ibrox season ticket-holder.

The Tele understands Stuart McCall has earmarked McAlister as one of his first Gers signings, if he gets the job.

But, after failing to achieve promotion to the top flight, McCall, although still a candidate, looks unlikely to be given the reins on a full-time basis, potentially putting the blocks on McAlister’s move.
