Good News On Re-Signing Front

Last updated : 19 June 2002 By Dave Webster
With little or nothing to report recently Dundee have announced their belief that Julian Speroni and Temuri Ketsbaia are increasingly likely to sign.

Julian - spot on against Well
At the end of last season an offer was put to the out of contract Speroni but when he returned home without a reply it seemed likely he would be off to pastures new. Now, it appears, the player's agent (Ocampo?) has indicated that Julian is keen to re-sign.

This is a massive boost for Dundee fans as Julian had been magnificent in the latter part of last season and was sought after by several Italian Series A clubs. To join a top Italian club now might mean having to work his way up through the ranks. His decision might have been helped by the knowledge that Dundee can offer him first team experience. That, and the adulation he received from the Dens Park "faithful".

Temuri Ketsbai has also been in contact with director Jim Connor with a view to returning to discuss a new contract and the much reported player/coach position hinted at in previous articles.

Temuri in his Newcastle "reign"
Temuri is the kind of player who can set the dullest of games alight with his unique style of running at defences.

Route 1 is his chosen path and he was a big hero not so long ago at Newcastle.

Raith Rovers have also hinted strongly that Nacho Novo will be a Dundee player within the next week and the diminutive but tricky Spaniard will, I feel, be a great hit at Dens Park.

Goal Maestro Novo
The guy oozes confidence and doesn't lack skill and polish in the finishing department as his 20 plus goals for Raith, which made him the Division 1 top goalscorer, proves.

To do that with a team on the way down against defences that are not short on height and power proves the wee man deserves the chance to strut his stuff on a bigger stage.

It looks like it might just be at Dens Park.
