Alloa draw

Manager James McPake watched his side dominate at home to Alloa Athletic on Tuesday evening but couldn’t find a breakthrough despite a host of chances.

The manager spoke to DeeTV following the match and said, “I think at the minute we are all hurting as a group. It’s a sore one to take. I don’t I’ve ever been involved in a game either as a player or a manager where we have been that on top and had that many clear cut chances. The frustrating thing is we couldn’t capitalise on them, credit to their goalkeeper as well.”

“We’ll hurt tonight but we need to pick that performance back up on Saturday when we go down to Ayr, put the same level in and be more clinical. We need to continue that level of performance but be more ruthless”

“The positive tonight was the clean sheet but also the fans.”

“People have asked me many times, ‘do they get on the players back?’. They get behind you when you do good things in the game. You saw that, there was a real atmosphere back here tonight.”

“They were right behind us from the off, right through to the 93rd minute. It hasn’t been the case, and rightly so, cause we haven’t showed enough of that but I think tonight they could see that other than a great goalkeeping performance, on another night we win that game 3 or 4-0.”
